Dr. Joyce Yau, BHSc MD CFPC

We are very pleased to announce the addition of Dr Joyce Yau to our medical team as a locum physician for providing quality health services to our patients.

Dr. Joyce Yau graduated from Western University Medical School in 2012. She completed Family Medicine residency at Queen’s University. She went on to join the Department of Family Medicine at Queen’s University as an Assistant Professor; teaching residents and medical students.

Dr. Yau also joined the Department of Ophthalmology at Queen’s University Faculty of Medicine, as a Departmental Assistant. She was on call 24/7 most days of the year for enucleations (removal of post-mortem eyes), to be used for transplant, research and teaching purposes.

She came back to her hometown of Toronto in 2017. She has been locuming at various practices in the North York and Midtown area. She holds privileges at North York General Hospital.

During the pandemic, Dr. Yau was heavily involved with COVID-19 management. She worked at the COVID-19 Assessment Center, COVID-19 follow up clinic, vaccination centers and completed many home visits to vaccinate elderly and homebound patients. She was one of the lead physicians for the vaccination clinics.

Dr. Yau held privileges at Trillium Health Partners, and was in charge of newborn assessments at Credit Valley Hospital. This was a part of her practice she really enjoyed.

Dr. Yau has a special interest in dermatologic conditions. She is currently completing a program in Practical Dermatology with Cardiff University.

When she is not working, Dr. Yau enjoys spending time with her family. She has four young children and a chow chow. If she can find a free moment, you will find her tending to her garden.
